IBV C85: Right Before the Off-Collab Stream!

After wrapping up the milestone stream, I finally got a chance to unwind and relax in the bath.

Suddenly, my phone rang. It was Dad calling.

“Hello? Yuki?”
“What’s up, Dad?”

“Ah, about that collaboration I mentioned earlier, looks like we’ve got some dates lined up. You good with that?”
“When’s it planned for?”

“If you’re okay with it, we’re looking at two weeks from now. Any issues with that?”
“Two weeks from now… Around what time?”
“Hmm, I’d like to start in the evening.”
“Evening should be fine with me!”
“Great, great. We’ll go over the finer details the day before, then. I’m counting on you.”
“Okay. Got it!”
“All right, take care not to catch a cold.”
“Haha, you too, Dad.”
“Goodnight, Yuki.”
“Night, Dad!”
With the call ended, I submerged back into the water, letting out bubbles as I sighed, my mind wandering.

It’s only been about two months since I started, but it feels like a lot has happened.

Starting off as a VTuber, Kaoru-san designed my character, Yuka Shirahime, and Yura-san built the body (3D model) based on that design. I stepped into this role to stream and record videos.

After going viral a few times, I somehow reached 200,000 subscribers.

I’m aware this isn’t normal.

But I’ve made it this far, thanks to everyone.
That’s something I can genuinely feel now.
What I said during the stream wasn’t a lie; it came from the heart.

I sure have come a long way… I murmured to myself in the bath.

Time passed, and the day of the collaboration drew near.
Huh? Did nothing change in the meantime?

Well, my channel’s subscriber count has been steadily growing, and the preparations for the school festival are going smoothly. So, no big changes, really.

Though, they said they’d start deciding on my outfit from next week, which I’m a bit anxious about.

As I was pondering this, Dad called again.

“Hey, Yuki, you keeping well?”
“Yeah, I’m fine!”
“That’s good to hear. Let’s just have a quick meeting for now.”
“Okay!”
“First off, about the hashtags. Make sure to use the V-Live tags in your stream. We don’t want to run into any rights issues, so I’m counting on you there.”
“Yeah, I remember doing that for my collab with Fuwa-chan. Got it!”
“Good, as long as you don’t forget on the day, we’ll be fine.”
“Got it!”

“And about what we’ll do, it’ll mostly be Marshmallow Q&A. We might also do something in I’mCraftman, like building or trivia explanations, but we’ll think of more stuff on the day.”
“That’s so you, Dad, always with the explanations.”
“Well, yeah.”
“But if we’re doing I’mCraftman, how about a challenge to build something nice within a set time? That could be fun.”

“That’s a possibility… Well, we’ll go with the flow tomorrow.”
“Understood!”
“All right, then. Looking forward to working with you in the stream tomorrow, Yuki.”
“Yeah!”

And with that, the call ended, and I decided to get some early sleep to prepare for tomorrow.

“Heh, heh, heh…”
I couldn’t contain my excitement.

“Collaborating with my own son, huh? Time to give that manager who cooked up this hellish idea a taste of his own medicine!”
But really, how many get to say their first external collab is with their own kid?

“It took some time, but now it’s all set.”
I said, closing my laptop.

I can’t wait for tomorrow. I’m going to throw that manager for a loop.
